Why Eating Breakfast?

by sarakhan

We’ve all heard, and many of us grew up with, that our parents taught us that eating breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We learned a lot about nutrition and when to eat. This realization led me to wonder why so many people skip breakfast.

It is just as important that breakfast is healthy. An unhealthy breakfast can be as bad a way to start the day as not eating breakfast.

A study conducted at the University of Massachusetts examined the link between breakfast and obesity. The study found that men who skip breakfast are about five times more likely to be obese than those who eat breakfast.

During sleep, the body fasts for 6 to 12 hours. It is called breakfast because, during this fasting period, the body boosts the metabolism it needs to start the day.

Eggs, whole grain toast (sometimes), fruit, organic granola/granola, and water or smoothies are good examples of breakfast foods. Eggs contain protein which is necessary for muscle development.

Breakfast is important to have enough energy to get through the morning. Cereals are good for an immediate energy boost, but they are short, sweet, and very low in nutrients. So avoid having cereal for breakfast most days. These sugary breakfasts can lead to a lack of energy in the morning.

If you don’t eat breakfast, you feel sluggish, depressed, and have a harder time concentrating. This makes it difficult to work out or have another productive day. The hunger caused by not eating breakfast doesn’t help, as it leads to unhealthy cravings for sweets.

Personally, I don’t think I’m having a good day if I haven’t had a good breakfast, and I’m not having a good day if I skip breakfast because I’m in a hurry. If I take the time to eat quietly in the morning before a big workout, I am well prepared. Taking the time to eat allows you to go into the day in a good mood rather than rushing out the door.

Many dieters are obsessed with calorie counting and see breakfast as the perfect opportunity to reduce their calorie intake. However, this is a bad start to the day and can lead to overeating throughout the day.

Complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, oatmeal, and dried fruit are foods that slowly release glucose into the bloodstream. These foods make you feel fuller for longer and help to keep your energy levels up for much longer.

Many people need caffeine in the morning to function, but it is important to try to limit your intake. Try replacing it with a fruit smoothie and see the difference. If you eat a full English meal, make sure to grill, not roast, and don’t overeat at breakfast. I can assure you that it is very tiring to work out with a belly full of fat!

A good breakfast provides your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to start the day and greatly improves your sports performance.

Many people are in a hurry in the morning, but it is important to take the time to eat a good breakfast.
